New camera and the Great Ocean Highway
I kind of caught her by surprise. She is the gal that sold me my new camera. It is just like the old one (Canon A590). I asked at several little towns about getting a camera but they only had a few and not one Canon which I am used to and works best for me on the bike. I went into Mt Cambeir which is a pretty good size town and found a Kamapart store. They had one instock and I went ahead and bought one even though I was surprised to pay $180 for it. But after figuring in the exchange rate it is about $120 which is less then what I paid for my first one.

A field on onions going to seed.

onions.

This southern part of Australia has a lot of tree farms and they harvest the trees and it sure is clear cut city.

Looks like they are putting up a wind farm someplace.

I am in farming country for sure now. This is a field of carrots being irrigated with a linier (sort of like a pivot but just goes straight. This one drags it feeder hose).

Quite a bit of irrigation going on here. They can pump underground water here as well as there are rivers. They are still on tight water ration I think.

They cut a hole in this hedge for a driveway. It was really windy and I can sure see how these hedges can stop the wind for hose protection. The fields have tree lines too but not trimmed like this.

I am on the Great Ocean Highway.

This is the area that they call the twelve apostils but I like the old name of sow and piglets.

This is a busy tourist road and I think they get people from all over, especially ones that drive on the right side of the road when home. The arrows on the highway help a lot. I am doing pretty good now after two months of being on the left.

Hey, looks like fun eh? It is a really nice road and some of those corners were pretty sharp. I got some of those little hairs of rubber finally knocked off the sides of the tires.

Farm fields goe right down to the ocean.

They rent a lot of these little motorhomes and I see them all over. They have unusual sayings and pictures on them. No two seem to be the same.

Fishing was popular at this little beach I stopped to take a quick power nap on.

I asked this guy about getting on the ferry for Tasmania. He gave me good directions and said it was well worth the cost to go over and have a ride around. Nice ride he has eh?

The ferry. The ferry leaves at nine at night and gets to Tasmania at six in the morning.

I met this couple waiting to get loaded on the ferry. He had bought the bike the day before and now had about 700km on it. It is a V4 Honda 1300cc sort of like the old Silver Wing or Moto Guzi.

I never did see the dog, I think this was just to scare ya. You are not allowed to take any plant material over to the island.

This is an interesting wheel chair users van. I have never seen anything like this at home. It sure seems like it would be a lot more efficient than those big vans everybody seems to use.

Getting loaded on the upper deck.

The City of Melborne.

These winches were huge. They use them to tie up at the dock. I told the guys that I needed a picture of them to show the gals back home what HUNKS they were. J

Now to spend the night in a reclining chair. I tried to stretch out on the floor but the steward comes by every now and then and gets everybody up in a chair. Exhaustion finally kicked in and I slept.
