I will be leaving New Zealand on Feb 23rd and would like to sell my bike before I go, so I am making a page here with the info on the bike.
It is registered as a1985 R80RT but it no longer has the fairing of an RT. I guess you could say it is just a plain ‘R80. It has now about 55,000 miles and the odometer is in miles, as I understand from the previous owner that it was imported from California. I am not sure if that is the total mileage on the bike. The bike is running very well and the only problem that I think it has is that one of the two front brake rotors has a warp in it. I had a friend try to straighten it and that helped but the rotor really needs more work or to be replaced. A warped rotor makes a surging when the brake is applied. It stops very well but would sure be nice to have that fixed. The oil pressure switch under the left cylinder leaks a little and I have a photo below that shows the oil and dirt it has collected over five thousand miles. It is not a problem but to make the bike ‘Tidy’ it should be replaced. I have not washed the bike but did take a damp cloth and wipe it down some for these photos. I will be riding the bike until I leave and would like to have someone that wants the bike make arrangements to buy it before I go. I could deliver it to them but then I would need to get transportation to Auckland, which would have to be added to the price of the bike. I bought the bike at a good price and figure I can give someone even a better price when I leave. I sure have enjoyed the ride and I am sure who ever gets it will have good rides too.
