The milky looking water is from a glacier.

there is a trail head that you can walk up about three miles to the glacier,  but I sure don’t like to leave all my stuff on the bike with no way to lock those soft bags up, as well as having to take off my riding gear and boots. Best to just ride the roads with a smile eh?

It sure is a great country to ride in and catch some long views like this.

Farmers busy getting in their ‘baleage’.

I stopped at a grocery store and when I came out I see this little scooter with this little dog chained to it. Guard dog for sure.

I stopped in at a campground near Queensland because the town was in full Holiday mode and was just stuffed with people. The hostels said they were full and not much chance of finding a place to stay in town. the campground was cheap at five bucks and I set up my tent under some trees on the river bank. I went down for a quick swim in the river which was a little cool but nice to get dipped and some of the road dust off.

There was a sign at the entrance that said not to camp under the trees if the wind was blowing but it was calm when I got there and set up. Soon the wind did start to blow and blow harder and harder until there was this huge pop and crack and a big limb came crashing down off one of these trees. The limb was about the size of my leg and would have killed anyone under it for sure. As it happened the limb came down right between these tents… wow, how lucky eh?

The road was lined with the lupine flowers.

Highest paved road.

I stopped in to get gas, er, petrol, at a little station and they had this display of chainsaws. The one hanging at the bottom  was priced at $1495. I have never heard of a Solo before.
