Albatross

I made a run out to the Otago Peninsula and came up to this forest fire.

you wouldn’t think that green stuff would burn like this would you?

This is the only place that the Royal Albatross nest on the mainland in the world. They do on lots of islands but they don’t consider this  country an island I guess. It turned out to be a real serious sheep chute ordeal and even with the December discount it didn’t entice me to get in line. I wandered around the fleece shop (aka the gift shop) and took a few photos.

I have seen a few women with similar tattoos and I will have to say that it is attractive.

The other side of this hill is where the Albatross’s are but they are not flying now as they are sitting on eggs. They must be spectacular as they have ten foot wing span.

The road along the bay was a nice bike ride and I took the inland route back which was even better and quite narrow and very twisty in spots.

Dunedin City trolly? Needs work.
