little gardens everywhere. Nice batch of spuds up as well as tomatoes squash and not sure what the other little plants that are just in are. This whole country has been big fields of veggies and little small plantings that are probably personal home use gardens. This country can probably feed itself.

There are a lot of these little Fiats around and most are kept in top shape.

I stopped and had a coffee and that is all they give you. Just a little shot in the bottom of a cup but with a water back as it is STRONG. I bought the licorice samples. The box is licorice roots which is great and the other is sort of gummy but strong. I can feel my blood pressure climbing…..

I thought this was an interesting bill board along the highway. I had to go back and take a photo…

an old rock quarry.

I wondered how they kept these little orchards so nice and clean.

These guys were building a dry stack wall but it sur3e was nothing like what the old timers stacked up.

Rock paving stones make a really rough ride.

I got lost in this little town too and stopped and took the picture showing how they have paved over the stones. Makes a smoother road but ???

Out on a point of land along the ocean was this old castle.

It had been a really rough windy day and I decided to get a hotel room. Wow, what a change from the campground facilities. Even had paper on the roll.

When I got up in the morning I walked down to the end of the street and found this massive Fort. It was closed until nine or so and I am up early ready to ride so didn’t get to go check it out inside.

This was downtown. At night they were having some sort of festival and the lights were blazing and the town was full of people. They had a band playing and even traditional dancers. It was party time for sure.

I was just parked near by so walked over and took this pic of the tile building blocks that they use here. A woman came out and was yelling at me not to take a photo. Too damn late gal……

I happened to run into a big group of BMW riders on their way down to Sicily. I asked if I might tag along and they said it would be ok. I don’t think they thought I could keep up. This guy is Andy and he spoke very good Engilsh.

It was a nice batch of fairly new Beemers and I think the oldest one was 8 years old.

Andy was trying to get his GPS working as he wanted to ride over the mountains rather than around the coast. It was building clouds on the mountains and looked like rain but they All decided to go for it anyway.

Here is their website IF you read Austrian/German

I was the tail dog on this ride and I stopped and got this shot of the road that had been washed out and that was why there had been no traffic on it. It was wide enough for bikes but not cars.

Andy’s girlfriend gave him a motorcycle earring for his birthday.

It did get a little wet on the way up but not too bad. I put on another layer as it had cooled down.

They had been logging up there and they sure had some nice ones stacked. They had firewood as well as smaller trees too.

It turned out really nice on the top of the mountain.

one of the guys pulled out his cornet and played taps.

This guy was very pissed that I was in his spot for getting gas at the station. I had to move quick.

waiting for the ferry.

Here it comes. I crossed over to Sicily with the boys and big farewell. They were only going to be there three days and were going to go home and back to work.
