To well 40

he is on the bike in this photo. It must have been a better ride in the hack on the rough stretches. I can’t imagine being able to get over those sand dunes with a sidecar, or even on a motorcycle.

we see a lot of these turd like things and Justin says that they are made by some sort of sand beetle.

this is just like sugar soft sand. I am amazed at what these rigs can do in this soft deep sand. So far we have been able to get over all of them but with the differentials locked.

I tried to get a picture of the little drops of honey and maybe you can see the reflections. Justin just started grabbing them and sucking on them. They are really sweet.

OH NO, something happened to the control that shifts the gearbox to lock the differential.

Two pickups came by while Justin was under there trying to figure out what went wrong. Turned out to be a linkage that slipped out and with wire and zip ties were are back on the road. The guys that stopped were sheep and cattle farmers. A really nice bunch of guys and I am invited to visit if I get down to their area.

Everyone just talked and talked, sort of like a bunch of Magpies. I couldn’t keep up with the speed or the use of their lingo. These hearing aids sure make a lot of noise when a bunch of Auzies are chatting.

A few Bungies showed up and were all over the Landrover. I was inside madly trying to get new batteries in my camera.

I stuck my finer out and had this one crawl onto my finger.

They were sure cute little fellows. I guess lots of people keep them for pets down here and they come in a lot of different colors.

I think it is interesting to see that they are using colloidal silver, or I guess that is how they are getting the silver in the solution.

The old iron handles off the windlass are still here but it looks like the high salt has about eaten everything else up.

Dennis showing off something that almost looks like grapes growing on a bush.

Not sure what kind of animal makes this track as well as the hole he/she either jumps out of or into. I have been watching the tracks in the sand and it sure is fun to see what has been going on.

A well diggers grave.

Notice that he was speared. Evidently he was speared in the neck but was able to shoot the guy as a abroginie was found about forty yards away dead of a gun shot.

These purple flower bushes are just so remarkable and I had to take this photo to show that they must bloom with the yellow and then just keep the purple petals.

Two (2) pinches salt

One (1) tea spoon Baking powder.

Combine ingreadents/

Lightly knead and shape into loaf

I was trying to make regular yeast bread but the bouncing around and not letting it get risen was a real problem.. = flat hard loaf… but it got eaten. Thes damper bread is just great and so easy to make, especially for camp cooking with little time for preparation.
