OzDogs visit
I noticed a little Elm tree starting to grow on the hill just to the east of the doghouse and decided to let it grow if it wanted to live that bad that it chose my (who is anti tree) yard. It would be a good test of survival skills if it makes it.

The grasshoppers this year have been on an eating rampage and they found the tree and ate the bark off about half way up as well as quite a few of the leaves. It isn’t looking so good now, and it will be interesting to see if it lives.

I am not sure what ‘weed’ this is but it sure has nice flowers. It is one of the most sticky plants I have ever rubbed up against. It is much like Velcro.

With all the rain we have had this spring and early summer, the weeds in the yard are still green and I have had to mow them twice so far this year.

Dennis and Dell arrived on their bikes that they bought over the internet in Florida and Georgia. They flew in from Australia and hopped on the bikes and made a run up through some extreme heat and humidity to my place. Dennis is the guy I sold my Ozdog (Suzuki DR 650) to when I left Australia. I stayed at his place several days getting ready to go home. I sure appreciated his hospitality and was glad to offer some Montana hospitality in return.

I got out a couple of my R80G/S’s and the Yellowdog and we went for a ride on some gravel/scoria roads so they could see the back country around here.

I invited some friends that I thought would be interested in meeting them as well as they both gave power point presentations of their latest travels. Dennis rode across parts of Russia, Mongolia and the ‘Stans’ last year and Dell did a two year round about Australia on her motorcycle and trailer.

It was a perfect evening for a party.

Here is both Charlie and Roger hogging in on the food while the pretty gals wait for the left overs.

Dell gave Glenna a detailed tour of the neat places she has been in Australia.

I made quite a few pizzas and there were burgers, brats and beer.

Some serious discussions over by the grill that Tucker was Master of.

It looks like they had a pretty good time or is it that they were just so happy to finally be leaving?

Happy none the less…..
