To Well 36

A couple of the maps we are following to find our route.

These caves are sometimes found in the rock outcrops.

Often we just stop and get out and walk around and look.

I am not pleased with my new camera. It just doesn’t seem to take photos that are in focus when I try to take photo up close.

The long view are great.

Dell taking a photo of a giant 2” spider. You can see the string of bugs that it has caught and enclosed in webbing. Dennis says that there are spiders that have webs that catch small birds.

Here we are getting into what they call the Desert Oaks again. We traveled several miles through these forests. The track is constantly changing.

one of the ‘cones’ that come off these Desert Oaks. It is hard for me to not think of them as pine trees.

Dennis says that these can be roasted and make a sort of coffee.

Budgies hanging around this little well and flying down into it to drink.

These I call the ‘Rock and Roll’ washboard. They will almost flip you over if hit too fast. Most of the washboard are even and it just jars you but these rock you back and forth.

A camel fell into this well and they had to make this tripod to lift it out.

They drug the damn camel up the road and I had to go up and see it. The others said it takes time to get the smell out of your nose after getting near but with my loss of smell, it didn’t bother me. I even tried to get a camel tooth for a souvenir but they were still tight.

Here is a sand beetle just starting to build one of those ‘turds’ I have been seeing.

what they look like after they finish.
