Hack and Tug
I went over to Billings with my trailer to see the sidecar that Gary Smith said he would sell me. He has had it for a while and was going to put it on his R80ST but just never did get around to it. I pulled up and had to get my camera out right away as the yard was so beautiful.

Gary sold RV’s for years and this is his get away rig. It is a toy hauler if you haven’t figured it out yet…… the toys go in the back and living quarter are in the front.

I was greeted with a three dog alarm but after a very short introduction they settled right down and accepted me as a friend. I have always liked Scotty dogs and these were really nice ones. The gray one is six and the other two females are a little over a year old. They didn’t want to behave and sit for a photo but they are pretty well trained for just pups and did what they were told.

The back yard is a nice escape from town life.

I really liked this little girl. Out in the sun she had an almost pearlesent coat of hair. I love the way these little dogs make it their business to check everything out and be sure all is under control.

Out in the garage was the sidecar next to Gary’s old friend his R80ST. He never did get around to mounting the sidecar.

Gary used to own with some friends the Honda motorcycle shop in Billings. I don’t remember the model of this bike but he had it souped up with all the hot rod stuff that was available when this was new. He says it has the most amazing sound at over 120 mph.

This is his ‘scooter’ that he blows the Harleys off the road with. I guess they just hate to be passed by a scooter and even more pissed when they cant catch him to pass him………J

With one guy on each side we were able to put it right on the trailer and strap it down for the ride home.

It came with two wheels and all the rigging to hook it up to a R80. The extra wheel is for a R80ST front.

Home and resting on a stack of pallets.
I then went over yesterday to Livingston and bought a 1984 R80ST from the guy that origionaly bought the sidecar for this bike. It sure is a nice one and it has lots of add-ons that were done to make it a sidecar tug.
