I have decided to try to leave Australia the end of this month (Feb) and try to get back to my place and graze the early spring grass as well as the nice stand of grass I was able to grow last summer. It seems like it might be a good thing to get that fire hazard diminished as well as get a few dollars to replace what I have spent down here this winter.
So, I have a very scrappy Suzuki DR 650 for sale. It should have around 30,000 km on the clock and it is running very strong. What I hear and read about these bikes is that they have made them for many years and there are no problems with them. This bike doesn’t use any oil in 5000km, which is when I change the oil. The book recommends changing at 6000km but I find it easier to read the odometer and change it when it is about to flip over 5,000km.
I would like to leave Sydney around the 28th and I would think that we can get the title transferred at the registry office easily. You will need an address and I used the hostel address I was staying at. It seems like I spent around $125 to transfer the title. The license covers you for insurance, which is pretty cool eh?
I thought I would put this For Sale note on my dog log list first at a good price for anyone that would like to come down and take over Riding Across Australia. It is coming time at the end of the month to start heading on up north and checking out the north east coast and the Great Barrier Reef. If you snorkel/dive this would be a great time to ride around and get wet in the ocean as well as do the northern trip around the continent.
Details on the bike;
22 liter fuel tank (this will get you a little over 400
kilometers on a full tank) $400
Full Staintune exhaust and new jetting. This
included the larger pipe and muffler. (10% power increase) $800
Barkbusters for hand protection as well as keeping the levers from breading off.
B & B bashplate for motor protection.
Moto-sport Yukon 11 racks and panniers
Not sure what they are called but those rocker type wide foot pegs. At first I didn’t think much of them and wouldn’t have paid the $240 for them, but now I like them a lot.
You have seen the action photos of the Ozdog and now is your chance to ‘give it a GO’.
