Trolling for turds, no shit!

This morning there were a couple of big trucks with tanks on the back that were trolling for turds. They were stopping and emptying turd tanks in the RV’s. I thought the RV’s went to town to take a dump, but no, here they come to them with a truck and suck ‘em off. What a deal. Mine are hidden out in the desert under rocks.

I got my mail this afternoon and will be taking the early flight out in the morning. I’m not sure which way I will go, but the road to Bouse looks good. A small grey road with no attractions should be just right. I’ve had it with Scissor Bill City and little dogs on strings.

The new neighbor guy with a new 04 Dodge just came by to talk about solar panels. He wants to get one for his outfit. He saw the one I have out on an extension cord in the sun.  His wife, he says, is a tv addict, and needs it between one and four every day. He bought a generator but thinks that a solar panel would be nice too. he has a tv satellite dish as do most of the campers with big motor homes.  I agree that he needs a solar panel, as I hate to hear his damn generator at night along with some of the others. Most of the new ones are really pretty quite but his is a cheap one and it is louder usual. It is really interesting how almost everyone runs inside when it gets dark and turns on the tv, just like home I guess. They cant’ miss the evening news and their favorite programs. There are a few that build huge roaring fires that they have to stand ten feet from until their wood is gone and then they run inside. I guess I am no better than them, when I am sitting in the wood smoke by my little fire writing boring stories, to uninterested people, in far off lands….  My fires are just about hat size and I have a piece of tin wrapped around it in a u shape to reflect back to me. I don’t use much wood and I have quite a bit to either leave or take with me when I go. I bagged a pretty good supply the other day right down town. Somebody cleared off a patch of desert for a parking area and  left a couple of small trees pushed over into a pile. These little desert trees are really dense and the chain saw is the only way to go. It did startle a few people who were close, when I cranked up my chainsaw, but I was done in no time and loaded up and gone…… the cops my still be looking for me….jeez, Louise, right down town in the middle of crowds? There is no place better to pull one off, I always say.

The neighbor guy is from Idaho and is a retired log truck driver. He had some nice tamarack wood that he brought down. He is a really nice guy and if all were like him maybe I could stand it better. He has an old schnauzer dog and it has never been on a leash or chain. He says it is just an old gummer and has to be fed soft food. Hmm, with my tooth gone, maybe I am on my way to being a gummer.  Ely has become somewhat acclimated to the chain. When I first hooked her up she thought I was being mean to her and punishing her. Now she is getting comfortable hanging out especially when it is hot and is under the pod. She is on the chain all night and I hear her growling at the coyotes as they come through camp looking for tidbits the campers drop or dog food they leave out. The neighbor guy took a run out Bousa way and says that it is a really nice paved road and that there are people camped all  over out there. It might have possibilities then??? I will go check it out tomorrow morning after I check email for last time. I have used up just a little over seven hours of my twenty four that I paid for. I see he has now increased his rates to $12/ 24 hrs. I paid $9.60 just last week. He also has a couple of computers for people to  use to check email. He charges $5 for ½ hr and $7.50 for an hour. I guess some people just don’t want to go out to, or don’t know about the free library computers. I guess it is handy too, being right down where the action is and they don‘t have to leave.

Up date on the hot sauce. I got an email from Anna who is fluent in Spanish and she said to watch out for ‘espicia’ or something like that. It means ‘spices’ in Spanish. That is a cover word for MSG in both languages and  I must have gotten some in either the tomato and chilies or the organic tomato sauce (I threw the cans away) because my mouth feels like it has been sanded. I checked the tube of hot sauce and  it is OK. It just has hot peppers, olive oil and salt. Ya really have to watch it on that msg, as It is in a lot of stuff. Thanks Anna.

Oh, there has been some chatter on line about the quality of the moon that I saw the other morning. Speculation has it that it was an old cellulite, pock marked one. Well, that is not the case. The couple camped in the little car were young folks and I can only say that it could only be classified as a full ‘new moon’. J

I see more young people around all the time now. It is surprising to see young people with dreads and lots of tattoos and piercings. I wonder how all those studs and rings would do in thirty below?  I saw a gal the other day with maybe twenty jewel earring/ studs. The whole ear surface on the inside was covered. I have seen some where the colors match, but this gal had every color and style she could find it seemed.

Oh, the last couple of days it has been really nice, and even somewhat hot in the sun. I have driven by this one place where a gal is selling carpet for Rvers to put out for lawns in front of their places. It is very common for them  to put out carpet or astro-turf stuff for a lawn. Well, this gal has been working on her tan the last couple of days, and when she is done, she isn’t going to have very many inches left un-tanned. I see that business has picked up for her, as there were several guys in looking around today. When it was cold and windy she had a lot more clothes on and I don’t think anybody was even thinking about getting a lawn for the rv.

The places are really filling up with vendors as they said it would. Some of the places that  I went to when I first got here have more than tripled in vendors. I ran across a person that was selling aerial photos of Quartzite and the different campgrounds and had a nice display. If I ever get a digital camera I will take a photo of his photos. He has summer and winter photos of town that show the influx that happens. It would be interesting to sit and count the number of motor homes, trailers and campers. I stopped at the chamber of commerce to find out where the bank was since I hadn’t seen it. They said that I would have to go to Parker or Blyth as there isn’t one here. Thousands of people here, and no bank. She said that the chamber was trying to get one but nothing so far.
