I came back to my room last night and took a photo of me after I went through the confetti ordeal on the street where my hotel is.

I met up with Fabiola and her son David at the Costa Rica Hotel café at three o’clock and we walked over to the place where I had my motorcycle parked. The bike was in fine shape and I got everything packed up and followed them to their house behind their cab. It is quite a ways from down town to their home and I am glad I had the cab to follow, as there were many turns to get here.
When we got home I got to meet Natalia who is the daughter as well as two women that live in the apartment with them. I am not sure yet what the other women’s role is but I think one is the cook and the other looks after Natalia.
We all had something to eat and we all went down to the bus stop, which is not too far from their front gate. They have a locked guarded gate a their place. We got on a big city bus and headed into town. The bus filled up very fast maybe only three stops. There was standing room only and the bus driver drove like hell and it seems like it was mostly down hill on the way to the center of town. We actually ended up only about two blocks from where the hotel I was staying in is located. The main street was lined maybe ten or twenty deep with people lining the entire street. I couldn’t tell how far in both directions they lined the street but I get the feeling it was a long distance. We got there a little after six o’clock and we waited almost two hours for the parade to get to us. We stood in the back and I just watched people or two hours. There were a lot of people. There was an endless string of people flowing past in both directions. The parade consisted of mostly marching bands and a few actors either walking on stilts or in costume. There were several groups of young people walking along that would stop and put on a quick show. The guys would toss a girl way up in the air maybe 20 feet and the girl would flip over and come down on her back. The guys that flung her in the air would then catch her when she came down. David said that they were some sort of cheerleaders or something. I am not sure what they would be cheerleaders for. There were a few large very well done floats with great looking girls and buff guys. I am not sure what all the significance they were about but I did see one that had many of the gold objects in the gold museum on a huge scale. Just before it ended we started for a bus stop and bus that would take us home. It is luck that we did as I could tell we were not the only ones to think about getting home, in fact I had to stand the way back as the bus filled up to standing room only as soon as it opened the door. We were way back in line so we stood. I noticed standing there that I am at least 8 inches taller than everyone else. I was standing there with my head touching the bus roof and trying to keep from bashing my head on the hand rails while everyone else just swayed along under them. I did see a few tall people down town but they are very rare. There are some really beautiful women around town and they like to show what they have. The pants they wear are low and very tight and their breasts seem to be pushed up and out. It was rather funny the other night when everyone was throwing confetti as the women with low cut tops were always stopping to reach under their tops to shake the confetti out of their bras. I also saw several cell phones tucked in to their breasts as I have an idea that they couldn’t get one into a pocket in their pants as they are way too tight. There is an advantage to being tall for looking down at the passing women.

I was given Daniel’s room to sleep in. He is bunking someplace else I guess and maybe on the couch. He goes out at night to be with his friends and Fabiola says that he doesn’t come in until late. David is 17 and will have one more year of high school and Natalia is in the fifth grade. David is quite a soccer player and I think I understood Natalia to say that he plays on three teams. I went up to the basketball court and watched him this afternoon. The boys of three each played each other until one of the teams made a goal, which was hitting the goal post with the ball. These guys are amazing with their feet and how well they can control the ball. It was different conditions than a grass field too as they sure didn’t want to fall down. I asked David if there were big fields that he could play on and he said yes but they cost money to play on. Not much money evidently but enough to keep the casual kid away.
I have a chance to go to an internet place as Natalia is going to walk me to it as there is one near here so I will have to cut this short for now.
