It has been rainy that last few days. I have had a cold finally catch up to me. I knew I was getting something, but I have been dosing myself with the Echinacea extract that I got from Terry Fox who makes it from plants collected in the Miles City area. Usually when I start getting a cold it just takes over, but with the Echinacea it almost keeps me from getting it. As it was, I only had the stuffy nose and felt dopey (I know I look that way always) for two days.
I moved my camp up the ridge so I wouldn’t be near the road and I would have a shade tree. It has been cloudy and cool so the shade tree hasn’t been that useful but it is there when it does warm up. The tree is a Palo Verde that doesn’t have any leaves at this time of year. Actually they only get leaves if there is enough moisture to support them. If it is droughty they don’t need leaves to survive because their bark contains chlorophyll which makes enough energy for them to survive. I will attach photo of the trunk of the tree during a nice little rain.
The only problem with the new camp is that it is in the middle of a large cholla forest. E dog got into them right away. I was thinking that she was somehow smart enough to not get into them. There are so many cactus around here that it is hard to keep out of them. She only got into them a couple of times. I was working at the bench when I noticed she was under my chair and needing help. The first time was the worst as she had a mouth full. The first reaction for the dog is to bite what is hurting and attached to their leg. She is really good dog and I was able to get them out without much trouble. The next time she had one on her leg and it was easy to get it off. Since then, she has kept out on them. I’ll attach photo of cholla forest and another of the view from camp.
I have been doing a little research on ebay and otherwise just lurking around the web.
I found out the community has a website! you can go to it and check out the place.
http://www.windspiritcommunity.org/
i haven't looked it over yet so i am not sure what is there, but maybe some photos and info.
one of the community just came in and said that there would be a massage therapist who does hot massage. somethikng to do with several hot rocks placed on your back and full treatment. sounds great to me, my hurt wing could use it for sure. she will not be here until next week, so i guess i'll hang till then. $20 for an hour and a half is sure priced right. she works for a chiropractor in Prescott normally but likes to come down here for a getaway. i undersatand there are visitors from all over the world who come here. the other day i met a gal from France who was visiting. i seem to be getting along well with the residents and don't feel like a stranger now.
i have been trying to do some photos of my new jewelry, but i really need to study more on it. it looks like i need to set up a small shooting table which i will probably have to wait until i get back to MT and can set up something with electric lights.
