Miscellaneous Dog Trails
I was asked if I wanted to go with the Custer County Art Club on a field trip to the Denver area. Why not? It turned out to be a great trip with about 16 kids. we visited art museums, the symphony, a play, the Federal Mint, Neon sign shop, candy factory, specialty casting factory, butterfly museum and several other interesting places. we stopped at a couple of colleges and visited their art centers and classrooms. we ate at several different types of restaurants and in all it was a very interesting trip. I liked having some contact with young adults although they were sort of afraid to talk with me after I was introduced as Professor Rex just back from a motorcycle trip to South America.

I went over to Bob's Motor Werks and found Bob changing his image from a bad ass biker to one of the nicest people you would ever want to meet by riding this Honda. This was a Primo BMW shop but now???

Charles Ringer was there on his new to him R100GS that Bob arranged for him
to buy.
I left my dirty yellow dog there to be serviced. You might notice the
difference in cleanliness.

Before I left last fall I was able to buy this older R80GS from Jim Everhart down in Colorado.

Sam stopped by for a quick visit. He came with wet pants and bare feet. He
had been hunting turkeys down on the Yellowstone river. He continued on the
hunting trail down to Broadus.

I went to Redlodge and stopped by to see the new Solar house that my friend
Pat Doppler built. It is a really cute house and utilizes solar for hot water
and heat as well as solar panels for electricity.

I took a trip over to Twin Falls, Idaho to deliver some long horn cross
bulls that my friend Mark Weeding raises. He had room in the rear of his trailer
for a couple of bikes, so he invited me to go and ride for a couple of days.
yeah, sure thing, not much else to do.
The son had a road bike and took us to see Shoshone Falls which was running
over the falls which it hadnt had enough water to do this in several years. He
has a custom high quality Harley.
He had a few toys too. this is a $34,000 snow machine with a $15,000 titanium
frame.
another hundred thousand dollar car he built.

loading the bikes after a wonderful ride. What was really nice was that
there was almost no traffic since it was before summer vacation season
started.

Sheila came for a visit and told me I couldn't shoot the head off a bunny
I pointed at. Well, I went and got my little 22 rifle and taught her how to shoot it.
She is, or has been, "Anti-Gun", but after a couple of minutes of training, she
shot this target. As you can see, she is a natural marksman.

I stopped by to see Craig Whitely and check out what was happening in his
Blacksmith shop. He is a talented artist and always has several complicated jobs
in process. He is a serious bike guy and it is always interesting to see what is
new in his possession. He and his son are planning on taking a similiar trip to
South America this winter. He welded up my scrapped up aluminum panniers form
both my accidents, a road rash doctor!!!!

I stopped by Bob's to drop off my little R80GS for him to do a service on
it. It so happened that Bob needed a break from work and we both NEEDED a ride
up the Beartooth pass outside of Redlodge. It was a beautiful day and we had the
road almost to ourselves.
