Bike show in Miles City

The first bike show held in Miles City happened the 22nd of July. It was put on by the Prairie chapter of the Montana Abate group. This is a group that is dedicated to motorcycle safety. A couple of the members asked me if i would put on my slide show of my trip to South America. I was happy to do that and it seemed to be enjoyed by quite a few folks. I had my big yellow  dog on display and since this was a bike safety sponsored group I asked if they wanted me to bring in my dead black dog and have it on display showing what can happen when things go wrong. They were thrilled to have it there and it was the first bike you saw after getting in the door.

The big yellow dog got lots of attention and it was definitely the dirtiest bike there. When they were giving out awards for the show, it won third place as a dirt bike. I hadn't expected anything like that especially since it isn't a dirt bike.

Since this was the first show in Miles, there was still some room in the hall where it was held and I brought in my R50 and side car to help fill up the space. That old  bike gathers a small crowd anywhere it goes.

Dave Jones was there with his old knuckle head with the new (old) side car he just got. It isn't painted yet but when it is, it is going to be an outstanding rig. I think he won first place in antique class. It is well deserved as he has put an unbelievable amount of work in this bike. He built it from parts over many years.

1985 Suzuki GS1150E which he said was the fastest bike built in that year. Anyone wanting to challenge him about its speed was encouraged to a drag!!!

Some of the local Miles City firefighter are in a group called the Big Sky Firefighters and they had several of their Harleys there. I wasn't aware that Harley made a series especially for firefighters. One of these guys was on ambulance duty the day I crashed head on into that car. They are really nice guys and they were the ones that came out to camp and loaded up my dead black dog on my trailer so I could bring it in to the show.

This isn't a very good photo but it is the Snap On bike that the Orange County Choppers built on TV or so someone told me as I don't watch TV.
